When you work in drywall and specialty ceilings, you learn one thing fast: no two jobs are ever the same. That’s what makes the work exciting—and what separates the crews who just show up from the teams that actually build something lasting.
At Curtis Partition, we’ve had the privilege of working on some of the most iconic and complex interiors in NYC. Here are three projects that put our range, skill, and attention to detail on full display.
- L10 Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District
Architect: TEN Arquitectos | Completed: 2024 | Type: Museum
The L10 project was all about precision and restraint. When you’re building a cultural institution, everything from the wall smoothness to the ceiling height matters—because the space needs to support the art without competing with it.
Our drywall and ceiling work at 286 Ashland Place was designed to disappear—quietly framing world-class exhibits with clean, seamless finishes. In a setting where every imperfection gets noticed, our team delivered a flawless canvas.
- CHS DNA – 300 Jay Street
Architect: Centerbrook | Completed: 2021 | Type: Education |
Education buildings aren’t built like they used to be—and that’s a good thing. The CHS DNA project called for more than walls and ceilings. It was a high-performance interior packed with modern systems: specialty ceilings, acoustical treatments, heavy-duty drywall framing and sheathing, plaster, doors—you name it.
In buildings like this, the layout is complicated and the coordination needs to be airtight. We worked alongside other trades to keep things running smoothly. When you need to execute that much detail at scale, that’s where Curtis shines.
- Barclays Center Renovations
Architect: Populous | Completed: 2024 | Type: Commercial Interior
This wasn’t our first time at Barclays—and it won’t be our last. For the latest round of renovations, we were brought in for carpentry, framing, wall finishes, specialty ceilings (including a turf ceiling), tin tiles, fiber-reinforced panels, and a full range of drywall services.
The challenge? Renovating an active arena without slowing anything down. Working alongside Shawmut, we stayed flexible, clean, and fast—installing dozens of ceiling and wall systems while coordinating around events, equipment, and ongoing operations.
Let’s just say: we know our way around a game plan.
